1.5 Million Iraqis have fled their country December 13, 2006

What a mess we have made!  1.5 million Iraqis have left Iraq because of the extreme violence there.  Now, many are knocking at the door to come here, and frankly, we have a moral obligation to take them since we caused the mess (you broke it, you bought it!).

Read this Boston Globe article.

It talks about how uncomfortable it would make Bush to start accepting large numbers of refugees.  Might have to admit that things aren’t going well over there.  Something the rest of us already know.

Interesting fact from the article.  We took 900,000 Vietnamese after the Vietnam War.  Big numbers!

Props to Crooks and Liars for posting the link to the Boston Globe story.  I read Crooks and Liars daily!

The video quality isn’t all that great, but I like the idea of this video.

The idea is that the Bush’s are so committed to the war on terror that none of them are fighting over there so that supposedly, we wouldn’t have to fight them over there.

Is it fair to criticize the rich progeny for being ner-do-well playboys and girls?  I don’t know, but its not surprising, given that this war has always been advertised as one without sacrifices back home (except of course, for the loved ones of the ones actually over there).

Scary Article About Chemicals Around Us December 9, 2006

Here’s a really scary article about all the chemicals around us in the National Geographic entitled “The Pollution Within”.

Makes you wonder if all these chemicals to cause the rise in autism and cancer.

We really need to take some steps in our house, but it is tough.  On the food side, I’ve started buying organic milk and mixing in organic products.  Different from the chemical problem talked about in the article, but in the same ballpark.
