I am the grocery shopper in the family and one thing that I have noticed in Utah is that when they advertise 2 for $3.00, you have to buy 2 of the thing to get the discount. In Texas, somehow I realized that generally if something said 2 for $3.00, you could get 1 for $1.50. Not in Utah.

I guess the difference isn't surprising given the fact that families tend to be bigger in Utah. But for little families like ours, it sucks to have to buy two loaves of bread at once!

I think NC is like UT. I remember being pleasantly surprised about this same thing when I moved to Texas.
